Featured Poet of August 2016
.Drunk
Dick was his name.
Homeless, but back then we said “bum."
Reaching for a bottle of kerosene
used to start a fire in a coal stove,
he drank.
No one stopped him.
He was coughing, gagging, and spitting up.
Over in the corner a laughing man
with a jaw full of tobacco
ignored a giant tumor.
